2013 Fitness plan: Day 3 Week 5
Tuesday night I didn’t sleep well at all. I had a sore throat and a stuffy nose. Yesterday morning I woke up feeling pretty bad.
I was finding swallowing difficult and felt exhausted. Luckily it was a rest day yesterday, so I took some time to sleep in the morning and spent the rest of the day doing as little as possible to try and shake off whatever it is I’ve caught – that included not writing this update until this morning…
It was also a fast day, which probably isn’t ideal when trying to fight off illness, but I stuck with it and had:
- 2 eggs, 1 apple, 1 banana and a mug of green tea for a late breakfast / lunch
- 1 egg and 1 banana for dinner
- 1 teaspoon of organic peanut butter mid afternoon
- 2 pints of water through the day
- 1 mug of hot water, lemon juice and a little bit of honey in the evening to try and sooth my throat.
I should have probably have had more water to drink through the day. I also took some throat medicine through the day and took paracetamol 3 or 4 times to ease my symptoms too.
I don’t get ill very often and, touch wood, when I do it tends not to last too long. But this is the worst time I could be feeling ill with only a week and a half of this diet / fitness experiment to go, I don’t really want it effecting things. Hopefully it won’t have too much of an impact overall.
Morning Measurements
Weight: 96kg down 1.3kg since Tuesday
Body Fat percentage: 16.5% down 0.6% since Tuesday
BMI: 24.5 down 0.3 since Tuesday
Today (day 4 of week 5) I’m still not 100% and plan on taking it easy again; I’ll not be running this morning and may have to skip this evening’s workout too. I don’t want to push too hard today only to make myself more ill and miss more training tomorrow or next week.
